The humans (and pen-names) behind Scribbly
Scribbly is a quiet, friendly corner of the internet for writers who want support without the noise. Here’s a peek behind the curtain at who runs it, how our creative personas work, and why we care so much about helping writers feel at home.
Transparent, but not fussy — just an honest look at who’s tapping the keys.
A quiet corner for writers
Scribbly began as a simple idea: a welcoming, clutter-free space where writers — especially emerging and over-50 voices — could learn, grow, and feel supported without the overwhelm that often surrounds publishing.
Everything you see here has been shaped with care, community spirit, and the belief that storytelling should feel accessible to everyone.
Who we are
Scribbly is run by Katy and Darren More in Queensland, Australia, along with their large collaborative network of trusted industry professionals.
Together, they handle mentoring, publishing guidance, Scribbly’s library of blogs, The Scribbler magazine, community connections and all the behind-the-scenes details that keep this space running for writers.
Why we use different writer personas
At Scribbly we use a variety of writer names. These aren’t external contributors — they are creative personas, created so we can write in distinct styles.
Some posts are practical and sharp, some warm, some playful, some highly technical. Using pen-names allows us to:
- share knowledge in different tones and personalities
- match voice to topic — mindset vs. craft vs. business
- keep the blog lively and relatable
But underneath it all, every article is written by Katy More and her collaborative network of industry contacts — simply wearing different creative hats. AI is used to transfer our natural voices into the creative persona that matches our topic best.
