Scribbly is run by real people who care deeply about writers, stories and the strange, wonderful, sometimes confusing business of putting words into the world.
Some of our articles are written under pen names and fictional blog personas. That is not because we are trying to mislead anyone. It is because Scribbly has grown into a creative space with different voices, themes and writing angles, and those personas help keep the library organised, approachable and a little more fun.
Behind all of it, though, are real people with real experience in writing, publishing, editing, design, business and community storytelling.

Katy More
Scribbly was founded by Katy More, a writer, publisher, editor, communications specialist and lifelong lover of words.
Katy has worked across newspapers, magazines, novels, websites, business content, design, publishing and community projects. Through Scribbly, she brings together the practical side of writing with the emotional reality of being a writer.
She created Scribbly because she knows how many writers are trying to navigate manuscripts, publishing, platforms, confidence, costs, decisions and self-doubt without always knowing who to ask.
Her goal is simple: to make the writing world feel less confusing, less lonely and a little more human.

Darren More is the other half of the team behind Scribbly and BookTree Publishing.
He is the one who helps turn ideas into systems, files, workflows, websites, print projects and practical solutions. While Katy tends to live in the words, Darren is often the person making sure the moving parts actually move.
His background in business, production, logistics and problem-solving helps keep Scribbly grounded, organised and possible.
If Katy is the words and the heart, Darren is often the structure holding the shelves up.

It is a free resource created because, at some point in our own careers, some one took the time to teach us, mentor us, explain things to us, encourage us and open doors for us.
We are now at the point in our lives and careers where we can do that for other writers.
Not everyone can afford professional advice. Not everyone has access to publishing knowledge. Not everyone has a writing community around them. Scribbly exists to help bridge that gap in whatever small way we can.
